Samsung has a habit of surprising its users in the best way sometimes. Despite initial rollout schedules hinting that the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 wouldn’t see One UI 7 until May, Samsung has pulled off an early launch. The company has started rolling out the update to these 2022 foldables, and honestly, it’s the kind of surprise we don’t mind at all.
The One UI 7 update for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 has gone live in South Korea first, as shared by Tarun Vats on X(formerly Twitter). Both devices are getting the Android 15-based update with firmware version ending in HYD9. As expected, it also packs in the April 2025 security patch, so your phone isn’t just smarter — it’s safer too.

It’s worth keeping your expectations in check. Even though the update has started rolling out, it might take a little while before it reaches every region. Some users might still have to wait until May, but seeing Samsung stay ahead of its own timeline is definitely a win.
If you’re rocking a Galaxy Z Fold 4 or Flip 4, keep an eye out for that update notification. You can also check manually by heading to Settings, tapping on Software update, and then Download and install.
