After a brief and unexpected pause, Samsung is reportedly ready to resume the One UI 7.0 (Android 15) rollout for its Galaxy S24 series. The update was halted just yesterday due to a critical bug, but it seems the company has already identified and resolved the issue.
Galaxy S24 One UI 7.0 stable update to reportedly resume today
According to trusted tipster Ice Universe (@UniverseIce), Samsung will restart the One UI 7.0 rollout today for the Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra. This comes as a relief for users who had been eagerly waiting for the new update—especially after it was delayed for months following a lengthy beta testing phase.
The pause came after users in South Korea reported a bug that prevented them from unlocking their devices after installing the stable One UI 7.0 update. While the issue seemed localized to Korean units, Samsung chose to pause the rollout globally to prevent any further issues.
Now that the bug has been fixed, the company is reportedly moving forward with the update once again, starting with the Galaxy S24 series. However, it’s currently unclear whether the Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition—which were also affected by the pause—will receive the green light today.
Samsung needs to rebuild trust
The One UI 7 update has already tested the patience of many users. Originally expected earlier in the year, the stable release only began rolling out on April 7—after four months of beta testing. Just as the excitement began to build, the rollout was abruptly halted due to a serious flaw, casting doubt on Samsung’s software testing process.
While it’s reassuring to see the issue resolved so quickly, Samsung still has some work to do in restoring confidence among its users. Many Galaxy owners are now hoping that the company will speed up the rollout to other devices and regions without any further hiccups.
We’ll be keeping an eye out to see if the update resumes for the other flagship foldables. In the meantime, if you’re a Galaxy S24 user, you might want to head over to Settings > Software update > Download and install to check if the update is now available for your device.
