Breaking! Samsung starts testing One UI 8 on Galaxy S25 series

Yes, you read the title right — Samsung has started testing One UI 8, which is based on Android 16, on the Galaxy S25 series. It’s surprising since the brand hasn’t even begun rolling out the One UI 7 update, which is based on Android 15, though it’s scheduled to kick off sometime next month.

The One UI 8 testing has begun at least two months earlier than usual, which is a good sign, but then Google will also release Android 16 months ahead of its usual timeline. The Android 16 will be released in June that leaves Samsung little time for development and testing.

Recent reports also suggest Samsung wouldn’t delay the One UI 8 release, at least not as much as it did with the One UI 7. So, everything seems good for now, but we wouldn’t bet on early information, especially considering the recent software rollout. However, we’ll keep bringing you the latest news so you always stay up-to-date.

As for the One UI 7 rollout, it’s still a month away. The Android 15-based will initially be available for the Galaxy S24 series and Galaxy Z Flip 7/Fold 7 and then will expand to older Galaxy models. The rollout should be completed within the first half of 2025.
