Samsung reveals One UI 7 release timeline, and it’s disappointing for many

Samsung has finally shared the official One UI 7 release schedule, and while it’s great news for Galaxy flagship users, mid-range and older device owners will have to sit tight a little longer.

The company dropped the timeline shortly after kicking off the stable One UI 7 update for the Galaxy S24 series, Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, and Z Fold Special Edition. The schedule (shared by @tarunvats33) outlines which devices will get the update and when — but it comes with a catch.

Only recent flagships are getting the update this month

Samsung is keeping things exclusive (for now) by limiting the April rollout to newer flagship models. Everyone else? You’re in for a May or June wait.

Here’s a breakdown of the timeline:

April 2025:

  • Galaxy S24/S24+/S24 Ultra
  • Galaxy Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6
  • Z Fold Special Edition
  • Galaxy Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5
  • Galaxy Tab S10+/Tab S10 Ultra
  • Galaxy S23/S23+/S23 Ultra
  • Galaxy S24 FE

May 2025:

  • Galaxy Z Fold 4, Z Flip 4
  • Galaxy Tab S9/S9+/S9 Ultra
  • Galaxy S23 FE
  • Galaxy Z Fold 3, Z Flip 3
  • Galaxy A34, A35
  • Galaxy S22/S22+/S22 Ultra
  • Galaxy Tab S8/S8+/S8 Ultra
  • Galaxy S21/S21+/S21 Ultra
  • Galaxy A16
  • Galaxy Quantum 5, Quantum 4

June 2025:

  • Galaxy Tab S9 FE/S9 FE+
  • Galaxy A73, A53, A33, A25, A24, A15
  • Galaxy Quantum 3, Jump 3, Jump 2, Buddy 3
  • Galaxy Tab A9/A9+
  • Galaxy Tab Active 5, Tab Active 4 Pro
  • Galaxy Wide 7

What about the devices missing from the list?

Some phones, like the Galaxy S21 FE, aren’t listed—but that’s likely because this schedule is for the Korean market. Devices that weren’t released in Korea may follow a separate timeline, which Samsung could reveal later for other regions. Still, expect a similar schedule globally for most devices.

Can Samsung stick to this schedule?

That’s the million-dollar question. With the One UI 7 rollout stretching into June, Samsung doesn’t have much breathing room—especially since it needs to gear up for One UI 8, which is expected to debut with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 later this year.

We’re hopeful Samsung will stay on track, but as always, delays can happen. Either way, it looks like the next few months are going to be busy on the software front.
