Samsung resumes One UI 7 rollout for Galaxy Z Fold 6, Flip 6, and Fold SE

Samsung has quietly resumed the One UI 7 rollout for its latest foldable phones—the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6, and the Fold SE—after briefly halting the update earlier this week. The company had pulled the plug on the initial release due to unexpected issues but is now pushing a more refined build to users in South Korea that should be free of any bugs and issues.

Bug-free One UI 7 update for Galaxy Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, and Z Fold SE is rolling out

Owners of these foldables are now receiving a new version of One UI 7, built on Android 15. This fresh firmware (spotted by Tarun Vats), tagged with the build version BYD9, is designed to iron out the bugs that were discovered in the first wave of the rollout.

While Samsung hasn’t detailed what those bugs were, the changelog mentions stability-related security code has been applied. The update appears to be rolling out to both users who missed the original version and those who installed the problematic One UI 7 build.

Firmware versions:

  • Galaxy Z Fold 6: F956NKSU2BYD9
  • Galaxy Z Flip 6: F741NKSU2BYD9
  • Galaxy Z Fold SE: F958NKSU2BYD9

As always, users can check for the update manually by heading to Settings > Software update > Download and install on their Galaxy devices.

Global expansion may take longer than expected

Samsung’s roadmap originally suggested that its latest flagships, including the Galaxy S24 series and foldables like the Fold 6 and Flip 6, would receive One UI 7 in April. But with the temporary suspension and bug-fix build now in play, it’s possible that some countries won’t get the update until May.

Samsung is expected to pick up the pace soon, especially with plans to begin rolling out One UI 7 to older flagships like the Galaxy S23 and popular mid-range phones such as the Galaxy A55 next month. However, based on recent rollout hiccups, users should manage their expectations and be prepared for further delays.

With the rollout back on track—at least in Samsung’s home country—the revised firmware is likely to reach more regions over the next few days. We’ll keep you posted as One UI 7 becomes available for more models across the globe.
