Samsung is already gearing up for the next big software leap — One UI 8, based on Android 16. The update is expected to bring meaningful changes and improvements over its predecessor, One UI 7.
While the the brand has announced that One UI 8 is coming this summer, it is yet to share the list of eligible devices. However, we’ve managed to prepare it based on the existing software update policy and past trends.

If your Galaxy device isn’t listed here, it likely won’t be getting One UI 8. Devices like the Galaxy S21 series and Galaxy Z Fold 3/Flip 3 have already received their final OS upgrade (Android 15 with One UI 7), but will continue receiving security updates for a while.
When is One UI 8 coming?
Samsung has officially stated that One UI 8 will roll out “this summer.” Now, that means anytime from June to September 2025. While the exact data is still unclear, it’s good to see Samsung committing to a timeline, something it clearly lacked with One UI 7 from the start.
Now that Google has confirmed a June 2025 release for Android 16, Samsung’s One UI 8 beta rollout is expected to begin shortly after — possibly later this month for some flagship models. The stable version of One UI 8 should begin rolling out during summer 2025, likely starting with the Galaxy S24 series.
We are hopeful that Samsung avoids the same limited rollout pattern seen with One UI 7 and brings a faster and broader release this time around.
