Samsung isn’t waiting around this year. The company has officially launched the One UI 8 Beta Program, giving Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra owners in select markets the first shot at Android 16 and all the fresh software tricks that come with it.
The program is now live in Germany, South Korea, the UK, and the USA. If you have one of the supported S25 series phones in these countries, you can enroll right away. As usual, expect the beta to stay limited for now—Samsung hasn’t said when or if other devices will join the fun. Once testing is complete, the plan is for One UI 8 to land first on Samsung’s next-gen foldables, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Z Fold 7, with a wider rollout to follow before the end of the year.
There’s no official word on the beta build version or download size yet. But if past releases are any indication, you should set aside several gigabytes of space and allow time for a few reboots. Samsung typically rolls out betas in phases, so not everyone will see the update at once.

One UI 8 brings a major Android 16 refresh to Samsung’s flagship line. Details are still trickling in, but you can expect refined multitasking with even smarter AI suggestions, bolder icon updates, and new privacy controls. The software also works behind the scenes to improve battery performance and includes an upgraded Now Bar for easier device navigation. If you’re a fan of AI features on your Galaxy, this release might feel smarter and more seamless than ever.
If you’re ready to take the plunge and test out One UI 8 Beta on your Galaxy S25 series device, here’s how: Open the Samsung Members app (download it from the Galaxy Store if you don’t have it), sign in, then look for the One UI 8 Beta banner on the home screen. Tap and enroll, then head to Settings > Software Update > Download and install to get started.
Remember, beta software can be buggy, so make a backup before you dive in. Happy testing!
