Samsung issues official statement on One UI 7 rollout suspension

Samsung has now officially confirmed that it has temporarily paused the One UI 7.0 rollout for its latest flagship devices. The company shared the update via the Samsung Members app in South Korea, acknowledging that a technical issue has led to the suspension of the highly anticipated software release.

Samsung officially confirms a pause on the One UI 7 rollout

Here’s what Samsung has stated regarding the One UI 7 pause (translated from Korean):

Samsung Electronics was conducting the One UI 7 update for models such as the Galaxy S24 series and Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 starting from the 7th of this month. However, an issue requiring some checks has been discovered, so the update has been temporarily suspended. Samsung Electronics will complete the checks and resume the update as soon as possible. We apologize to customers who have experienced inconvenience.

This confirmation comes shortly after tipster Ice Universe revealed that some Galaxy S24 users in Korea were unable to unlock their devices after installing the stable One UI 7 update. While Samsung didn’t explicitly confirm the nature of the issue in the official statement, it appears this bug was serious enough to warrant a global pause.

One UI 7 rollout started off strong, then stalled

Samsung began rolling out One UI 7 based on Android 15 on April 7, starting in South Korea for the Galaxy S24, Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, and Z Fold Special Edition. The rollout quickly expanded to parts of Europe and the US, but suddenly came to a halt earlier this week. Users across regions reported the disappearance of One UI 7 firmware from Samsung’s update servers, further hinting at internal problems.

The issue seems to mainly affect the Galaxy S24 and S24+ in Korea and Europe, while firmware remained accessible for the S24 Ultra and US models. This has led to speculation that the bug might be linked to specific chipsets used in certain regions.

Samsung has assured users that it is working to resolve the issue and will resume the rollout “as soon as possible.” While it’s good to see the company acting cautiously, the lack of a clear timeline might frustrate users who have already been waiting for months for the stable release.

For now, Galaxy users will have to wait until Samsung completes its internal checks and begins pushing One UI 7 again. We’ll keep you posted on when the update resumes and which regions get it first.
