Samsung has finally spilled the beans on what’s inside the April 2025 security patch — and it’s a pretty important one.
While the update started rolling out to some Galaxy phones a few days ago, including the Galaxy S25 series and others that recently received the One UI 7.0 stable update, Samsung didn’t immediately reveal what security vulnerabilities it had addressed. That’s now changed, thanks to an update on the company’s official security bulletin page.
Samsung reveals April 2025 security patch details
In total, the April 2025 patch takes care of 56 vulnerabilities, and here’s how it breaks down:
- 45 fixes from Google
- 4 marked as Critical
- 36 tagged as High priority
- 5 additional Google fixes (not applicable to Samsung devices)
- Samsung-specific fixes
- 1 high-level Samsung semiconducter patche
- 21 vulnerability patches
These Samsung-specific issues targeted potential security holes in various system components, including:
- Sticker Center
- Clipboard functionality
- Samsung Contacts
- HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection)
- Wireless download protocol for Galaxy Watches
- Input manager
- Bluetooth pairing process on Galaxy Watches
It’s great to see Samsung proactively tightening up security not just for phones and tablets, but for wearables too.
