Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3

Samsung has taken everyone by surprise once again. After rolling out One UI 7 to the Galaxy S21 series earlier than expected, the company has now released the Android 15-based update for the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Z Fold 3 — ahead of schedule. The update is currently available in South Korea and should expand to other regions in the coming days.

The Galaxy Z Flip 3 is receiving the update (via) with firmware version F711NKSU8KYD9, while the Galaxy Z Fold 3 gets F926NKSU7KYD9. The OTA package is around 3.5GB in size, so users should ensure they have a stable internet connection and sufficient storage before updating.

While the rollout has just begun, it may take a few hours or days for all eligible units to receive the update. Users can manually check for it by heading to Settings > Software update > Download and install.

With this release, Samsung has now completed the One UI 7 rollout for all eligible foldable smartphones in South Korea. That includes the Galaxy Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5, Fold 4, Flip 4, and now, the Fold 3 and Flip 3. A global expansion is expected soon as Samsung continues its fast-paced rollout across regions and devices.

The end of the road for Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Fold 3

The Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Z Fold 3 were launched in 2021 with Android 11, and with this update to Android 15 (One UI 7), both devices have now received their four promised OS upgrades. This is the final major Android version update for them. However, Samsung will continue to provide security updates for some time, helping extend their usability and security even after OS support ends.
