These premium tablets received the update in South Korea a few days ago, followed by Europe and the US yesterday.
Galaxy Tab S9 series One UI 7 update details
The Android 15-based One UI 7 update is now rolling out to the Galaxy Tab S9, Tab S9+, and Tab S9 Ultra users in India. It comes with the firmware version ending with CYD9 and weighs over 5GB in size, which is expected given the number of new features and improvements it brings. The update also includes the April 2025 security patch.

Here’s a breakdown of the firmware versions for each model:
- Galaxy Tab S9: X71xxXXU5CYD9
- Galaxy Tab S9+: X81xxXXU5CYD9
- Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra: X91xxXXU5CYD9
The One UI 7 update brings a refreshed interface, smarter multitasking features, new Galaxy AI enhancements, and plenty of under-the-hood improvements to boost performance and battery life. It’s a big upgrade, and if you haven’t installed it yet, now’s a good time to jump in!
If you own any of these tablets and live in India, you can check for the update by heading to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
Two major updates down, two more to go
Samsung launched the Galaxy Tab S9 series in mid-2023 with Android 13 and One UI 5.1.1 out of the box. Later, the devices received the Android 14-based One UI 6 and One UI 6.1.1 updates. Now, with the Android 15-based One UI 7 update, they are on their second major OS upgrade. Samsung has promised four generations of OS updates for the Tab S9 lineup, so these tablets are still in for two more major Android updates in the coming years.
