Samsung’s One UI 7 update train isn’t slowing down! After rolling out the update to the Galaxy S22 series, Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Z Flip 4, and Galaxy S23 FE earlier today, the company has now started pushing One UI 7 to the Galaxy Tab S8 series. The 2022 flagship tablets are getting the update in South Korea, and more regions should follow very soon.
Galaxy Tab S8, Tab S8+, and Tab S8 Ultra join the One UI 7 party
The Galaxy Tab S8, Tab S8+, and Tab S8 Ultra are now receiving the Android 15-based One UI 7 update with firmware version ending in DYDC. The update package is about 4.6GB in size, although it might vary slightly depending on your model and region. As usual, the April 2025 security patch is bundled in to fix several critical vulnerabilities.
Interestingly, the Galaxy Tab S8 lineup was initially scheduled to receive One UI 7 sometime in May 2025. However, Samsung has managed to deliver the update ahead of its original promise, bringing a pleasant surprise for users. It’s a sign that Samsung is moving faster than ever with its update timelines this year.
With One UI 7, Samsung introduces a refreshed user interface with smoother animations, larger home screen folders, better widget customization, and a vertically scrolling app drawer. The update also brings smarter features powered by Galaxy AI and Google Gemini, although not all AI tools are available for every device. Enhanced privacy settings, a cleaner design, and improved system-wide performance are some of the other highlights.
The Galaxy Tab S8 series launched with Android 12 and was promised four major Android OS upgrades. This means Android 16 will be the final major update for these tablets, expected to arrive in late 2025.
If you own a Galaxy Tab S8, Tab S8+, or Tab S8 Ultra, you can check for the One UI 7 update by heading over to Settings > Software update > Download and install. The rollout in South Korea is just the beginning — a global release is right around the corner!
