Galaxy S23 series gets another update ahead of One UI 7.0 beta

The March 2025 security patch update has just dropped for the Galaxy S23 series, and this could mean we’re close to getting the One UI 7.0 beta. We saw the brand doing something similar with the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 — quickly following up with One UI 7.0 beta after releasing the March 2025 security update.

Galaxy S23 series March 2025 security update details

The latest update for the Galaxy S23 models brings the March 2025 security patch. It’s based on One UI 6.1 and is currently rolling out in the US and South Korea. It should expand to more regions over the next few days and weeks.

The Galaxy S23 users are getting the newest software with the following firmware versions:

  • Galaxy S23 (US/Korea): S911USQS6CYB3 / S911NKSS6CYB3
  • Galaxy S23+ (US/Korea): S916USQS6CYB3 / S916NKSS6CYB3
  • Galaxy S23 Ultra (US/Korea): S918USQS6CYB3 / S918NKSS6CYB3

The March 2025 security patch for Samsung devices fixes over 50 vulnerabilities to improve overall device security. This includes 11 critical fixes, 40 high-level fixes from Google, and 7 fixes from Samsung related to Auracast, communication settings, Galaxy Watch Gallery, and Wi-Fi services.

One UI 7.0 is on the way for the Galaxy S23 series

Earlier this month, Samsung announced the One UI 7.0 beta program expansion, and Galaxy S23 series was there on the list, fortunately. The brand also revealed the beta program for the S23 models will begin in March without any specific date.

The One UI 7.0 beta program will be available in select countries, including India, Korea, the UK, and the US. So, if you have a Galaxy S23 and live in any of these eligible countries, you can experience the latest One UI software at least a month before the majority of users.

This March 2025 security update for the Galaxy S23 series indicates that the One UI 7.0 beta could arrive soon. It could be the next update.

Galaxy S23 users can apply for the One UI 7.0 beta program via the Samsung Members app. When you’re eligible, you’ll see a One UI Beta Program on the app. So, regularly check the app, as the beta program could kick off anytime soon.
