Breaking: One UI 7 rollout resumes for Galaxy S24 series

Samsung has officially resumed the One UI 7 stable rollout, starting with the Galaxy S24 series in South Korea. This follows a brief pause due to critical bugs that affected some devices. The new stable build is being pushed to users who have already upgraded to One UI 7 before the rollout was paused. A wider release should follow up shortly across global markets.

Galaxy S24 gets One UI 7 update (again)

Samsung initially launched the One UI 7 stable update on April 7 for the Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra in South Korea. The update quickly expanded to other markets including the US, Europe, and Canada. However, a critical bug—reportedly affecting device unlocking on Korean units—forced the company to temporarily halt the rollout.

Now, Samsung is rolling out a revised version of the One UI 7 update for the Galaxy S24 lineup. Users who already installed the first build are receiving a hotfix update weighing just under 300MB for the S24+ and around 450MB for the S24 Ultra. Those who didn’t install One UI 7 peviously would received a larger update package weighing around 5GB.

In Korea, the new firmware carries build version YD9, which is the same version that recently rolled out to the Galaxy S25 series as part of its large April update. This indicates that both flagship series are now aligned in terms of features, performance, and software stability.

One UI 7 rollout will gradually expand to more devices

While the update has resumed for the Galaxy S24 series in Korea, Samsung is expected to expand availability to other countries in the coming days. Users with the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 should also begin receiving the stable One UI 7 update soon.

Other eligible Galaxy devices—including the Galaxy S23, Galaxy Z Fold 5, Flip 5, and numerous mid-range models—are still waiting for their turn. Based on Samsung’s official timeline, the full rollout of One UI 7 will continue until July 2025, covering over 80 different models globally.

If you’ve a Galaxy S24, just head to Settings > Software update > Download and install to check for the update manually.
